Livingstone Office for Contemporary Art invites you to attend two special events happening this weekend:

SATURDAY 8TH AUGUST 2026 @ 13:30 – 16:00 – ‘Presence and Absence: A Performative Walk Inside Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park’: “A critical conversation about land, memory and solidarity… turning the park into a site for community-generated dialogue rooted in the realities of the Zambezi Corridor”

SUNDAY 9TH AUGUST 2026 @ 14:00 – 16:00 – ‘Kinkurimba Listening Lounge’: “A relaxed listening session of ‘S for Sound, S for Solidarity’ episode 8, with refreshments.”

The events are organised by visiting artist Scott William Raby and curated by Luyando Muleya.

Scott William Raby (DK/US) is an artist, arts organiser, and researcher currently based in Aalborg, Denmark. His practice explores the (im)material terrain between art, architecture, infrastructure, and public spaces towards critical, experimental, and discursive outcomes. Socio-economic, geo-political, ecological, legal, and other cultural questions, conflicts, and processes are often points of departure for his artistic practice. Through performance, installation, public/social practice, and (self-) organisation, he seeks to reconfigure power dynamics, institutional frameworks, and notions of value.

Luyando Muleya is an emerging curator and cultural worker based in Livingstone, Zambia. His practice brings together contemporary arts, oral histories, and social practices to foreground subjugated knowledges and endogenous epistemologies. Through participatory models and social practices, he examines endogenous practices that counter epistimicide in the communities he works in.

The events and associated costs are FREE, and we’ll have some refreshments too. We especially invite “students and young people in Livingstone who are interested in art, culture, activism, the environment — or who just have something to say about this city and its infrastructure.”
