Everyday Lusaka Gallery opens a new exhibition – "Mycelium” – a solo exhibition by Hassan Yasini which explores the connections between agriculture and art.

“Curated by Sana Ginwalla, with writing by Mukandi Siame, “Mycelium” is the culmination of years and research where Yasini shares his discoveries and experiments between two fields of practice he continually balances: farming and printmaking. Building on the idea of interconnected networks like that of mycelium, Yasini highlights the role of creativity in survival. Printmaking offers a form of documentation – preserving memory and communicating how the seemingly mundane acts of growing, storing, and consuming food can give rise to creativity.

In a time where Zambia’s political, geographic and economic landscape is rapidly shifting, Yasini transforms Everyday Lusaka Gallery into a space that invites us to think critically about food sustainability, and not just food security.”
